Recently it was discovered that a pupil taking GCSE English
was awarded 7.5% after only writing 'fuck off' in the exam.
England's chief examiner said the mark would have been bumped up to 11% if he had used punctuation like an exclamation mark.
The answer apparently showed accurate spelling and the basic skills which they were looking for.
However others argue that the language is inappropriate and proof that the GSCE examinations are becoming easier.
Is this unfair to other candidates who spent weeks revising when all you needed to gain 11% was two words correctly spelt with punctuation?
